The MWFP Foundation is awarding two (2) scholarships annually in the amount of $3,000.00 each. These scholarships will be awarded to two students enrolled in institutions of higher learning within in the state of Mississippi. This will be a one time award at the beginning of the fall semester.


To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be a legal resident of the state of Mississippi and hold a current Mississippi hunting and/or fishing license.

Applicants must be officially enrolled in a public or private college/university or community college within the state of Mississippi and must be classified by hours as a sophomore or junior.

Applicants must be seeking a major or minor degree in any field of study that relates to or contributes to wildlife conservation, wildlife law enforcement and/or outdoor recreation. This shall be determined by the scholarship committee.

Eligible applicants must obtain at least a 2.5 GPA by the beginning of the fall semester during which scholarship application is filed and provides at least three (3) letters of reference along with the official application document. Reference letters should come from the following persons:
     a. Faculty Advisor of the Department in which applicant is enrolled
     b. Any Professor who has instructed the applicant
     c. Local community resident/leader


A one time check will be awarded to each of the 2 individuals at an award ceremony.


You will need to download the scholarship application packet, as well as:

Write an essay (300-500 words based on 1 of the 3 topics)
Supply an official school transcript properly documented to the beginning of the fall semester during which scholarship application is filed; any transcript that does not bear the school’s official seal will not qualify.
Submit three (3) letters of reference
