The Mississippi Marksmanship classes are designed to offer shooting techniques to the hunter that would not normally be taught in our basic Hunter Education classes. The shotgunning classes and beginning rifle classes are being taught by a 4 time national champion. Please understand that these classes assume the student has attended the Hunter Education class, and is physically competent to handle a firearm.
Intermediate Shotgunning
This class covers gauge identification, pattern, choke, shot size and application, gun mount, monocular vs. binocular vision, basic interception techniques, range rules, firearms etiquette, and range rules.
Advanced Shotgunning
The following subjects will be covered in depth: Dominant eye, gun fit,
advanced interception methods, natural point of aim, strong and weak side coverage, the swing, proper sight picture for hunting, Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clays.
Introductory Class for Rifle Shooting
This is an introductory class for rifle shooting for beginning shooters, or adults who did not have the opportunity to be mentored by their parents in the marksmanship sports.
